For people ages 4+ with a diagnosis or suspected diagnosis of autism
Speech-Language Consultations help you support communication with practical, daily strategies.
Over four sessions, a Speech-Language Pathologist will partner with you, along with any educators, therapists, or ABA team members involved in your care. They’ll help everyone involved understand the individual's unique communication needs and help you implement the strategies that are best for them.
Strategies might include:
Play-based activities that build language naturally
- Guidance on using communication devices (i.e. augmentative and alternative communication)
- Ways to support social skills like taking turns or making requests
These speech pathology services can be purchased using your OAP funding, out-of-pocket, or other sources including external philanthropic support, community-based funding programs, or private insurance. Clients in our autism speech-language programs must:
-Be aged 4 years or older
-Have been diagnosed with autism by a licensed professional
-Have a communication need within a specific communication domain that requires intervention (articulation, oral motor, receptive language, expressive language, fluency, voice, literacy)
-Be able to sit and maintain attention for an hour, with breaks if needed, to participate in intervention with the caregiver
-Be aged 4 years or older
-Have been diagnosed with autism by a licensed professional
