Surrey Place offers competitive salaries and an industry-leading defined benefit pension plan to promote financial growth.

The Healthcare of Ontario Pension Plan (HOOPP) is one of Canada’s largest and most reputable defined benefit pension plans. HOOPP guarantees a stable monthly income that starts at retirement and continues for the rest of your life. HOOPP calculates retirement income based on your years of service and the highest average salary. HOOPP benefits are adjusted annually to keep pace with inflation, ensuring your retirement income stays aligned with the cost of living.
Additionally, HOOPP also allows for early retirement, beginning as early as age 50 with a reduced pension. This plan offers a secure and trustworthy retirement plan with a range of benefits that promotes financial security and peace of mind. HOOPP is available to all employees including part-time and contract staff. Flexibility and Time Off

  • Build a schedule that fits your lifestyle with compressed and flexible schedule options
  • Take a paid year off for that dream degree or trip with the Prepaid Leave Plan (PLP)
  • Invest time in your growing family with the Supplementary Employment Benefits (SEB) Plan
  • Take time away with paid vacation, sick time, 11 statutory holidays, 4 personal days, pregnancy and parental leave
  • Set a rhythm to your week that meets your needs with hybrid and remote work options

Surrey Place understands the importance of balancing work and personal responsibilities. Our compressed and flexible work policy allows employees to adjust their work schedules to better suit their needs. Compressed work schedules involve working longer hours on fewer days, such as four ten-hour days instead of five eight-hour days. In addition, this policy allows employees to adjust their start and end times while working remotely. This approach provides greater flexibility for employees, helping them achieve a better work-life balance.

Take a break, get paid, and come back better than ever! The Prepaid Leave Plan (PLP) offers employees the chance to defer one-fifth (1/5) of their annual salary over four years and enjoy a one-year paid leave.

Our Supplementary Employment Benefits (“SEB”) Plan allows employees to take time off work to focus on their family and new additions to their family. Employees entitled to pregnancy or adoption leave may be eligible for an allowance from SEB in addition to employment insurance benefits. The allowance consists of payments equivalent to 84% of the actual weekly rate of pay for the first two weeks, and for up to an additional 15 weeks, payments equal to the difference between weekly EI benefits and any other earnings received, plus 84% of your pre-leave weekly rate of pay.
